Neuropsychological Evaluation
Dr. D'Anna is in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. Typically, if authorization is granted, BCBS will cover many components of the evaluation. Dr. D'Anna will request this pre-approval for testing from the insurance provider.

However, insurance generally does not cover the academic assessment, which includes academic achievement testing, reviewing school records, and providing specific educational recommendations, as it is not considered a medical necessity. Therefore, this portion of the evaluation involves a separate private fee.

Clients with other insurance providers may be able to seek reimbursement as an out-of-network service by submitting an itemized bill (a Superbill), which can be provided upon request. It is the client's responsibility to verify their plan's co-payment, co-insurance, and deductible amounts with their insurance company.

For those without BCBS, Dr. D'Anna also offers evaluations on a private pay basis. For information regarding these fees, please contact Dr. D'Anna directly.

Accepted payment methods include cash, check, Venmo, and credit cards (subject to a processing fee). Out of pocket costs are due on the day of testing.

Psychotherapy Services
Dr. D'Anna is in network with BCBS. Her standard rate for a 45-minute private pay psychotherapy session is $200, aligning with the prevailing market rate for psychotherapy services in the Boston metropolitan area.

Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges
Under the No Surprises Act

Under the new regulations implemented as part of the “No Surprises Act,” health care providers must give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises  or call 1-800-985-3059.
